4. Sign into iCloud on Both Devices

If you want to use Contacts Only Mode, make sure both sending and receiving device are signed into iCloud.

Also, the Email ID or Telephone Number associated with iCloud Accounts must be available in the Contacts List on both devices.

5. Turn OFF Do Not Disturb Mode

AirDrop does not work in case Do Not Disturb Mode is enabled. Hence, follow the steps below to disable Do Not Disturb Mode on Mac.

1. Click on the Notifications Icon located at top-right corner and move the toggle next to Do Not Disturb to OFF position.

Similarly, make sure that the device to which you are transferring files is not placed in Do Not Disturb Mode.

6. Check Firewall Settings

Check the Firewall Settings on your Mac to make sure that Incoming Communications are not being blocked on your device.

2. On System Preferences Screen, click on Security & Privacy.

3. On Security & Privacy screen, select the Firewall tab and click on Firewall Options button.

Using AirDrop with iMovie on iOS

There are two ways to use AirDrop with iMovie on iOS. You can share individual video clips, or share an iMovie project (movies or trailers) with all the video files used in the project.

To send individual video clips:

1. First, enable AirDrop on both devices.
2. In the iMovie video browser, tap the video clip you want to share.
3. Tap the Share button .
4. From the list of nearby devices that have AirDrop enabled, tap the device you want to receive the video clips.

The process of sending the video clips will begin (see Figure 8).

If device names do not appear, check that AirDrop is enabled on the other devices that within range, and that each device is in the Contacts app or the AirDrop settings is set to 'Everyone.'

5. On the device receiving the video clips, tap Accept on the alert that appears. The video clips are added to the receiving device's Camera Roll.

To send iMovie projects (movies and trailers):

1. Enable AirDrop on both devices.
2. In the iMovie Project browser, tap the movie or trailer you want to share (see Figure 9).
3. Tap the Share button .
4. From the list of nearby devices that have AirDrop enabled, tap the device you want to receive the project.

The process of sending the project and all the used video clips will begin.

If device names do not appear, check that AirDrop is enabled on the other devices that within range, and that each device is in the Contacts app or the AirDrop settings is set to 'Everyone.'

5. On the device receiving the project and video clips, tap Accept on the alert that appears.

The project will appear in the Projects view on the receiving iOS device. The video clips will appear in the iMovie video browser and in the Camera Roll of the Photos app.
